DESCRIPTION
The Tech Deployment team serves as a scalable execution function for infrastructure and technology programs across Amazon's operational facilities. The team partners with engineering, operations, construction, technology teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to deploy solutions spanning electrical infrastructure, HVAC and building systems, controls and automation, metering, sensing and location technologies, and other emerging infrastructure technologies.
In this role, you will manage multiple concurrent deployment programs from planning through field execution, validation, and operational handoff. You will translate technical requirements into executable deployment plans, coordinate vendors and internal stakeholders, manage schedule and execution risks, and establish repeatable processes that enable technologies to scale across a large and geographically distributed portfolio.
The successful candidate will have experience delivering complex technical or infrastructure projects and operating effectively in environments with multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and evolving technical requirements. Experience with electrical systems, HVAC, controls and automation, material handling equipment, sensing technologies, or other building and operational infrastructure is preferred.
This role requires a self-starter who can independently manage multiple projects, identify and resolve execution barriers, and influence stakeholders across organizational boundaries. The candidate must also demonstrate the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar technologies and technical requirements sufficiently to lead their successful deployment.
This is a travel-based role. Travel across North America of up to 50% or more may be required depending on project needs.
Key job responsibilities
- Manage multiple concurrent technology and infrastructure deployment programs from planning through implementation, validation, and operational handoff.
- Develop deployment strategies, project plans, schedules, milestones, and execution mechanisms that enable repeatable deployment across multiple sites.
- Translate engineering and technical requirements into executable field deployment plans in partnership with engineering teams, vendors, contractors, and site stakeholders.
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are executed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with technical requirements.
- Manage vendors and contractors, including performance, quality, schedule adherence, execution risks, and corrective actions.
- Manage escalations, installation deviations, field constraints, and rework, driving issues through resolution with appropriate technical and business stakeholders.
- Analyze deployment and audit data, including vendor KPIs, installation quality, schedule performance, and other execution metrics, to identify systemic issues and opportunities for improvement.
- Develop working knowledge of technical systems and facilitate root-cause analysis and issue resolution when deployment challenges arise.
- Work across hardware, software, controls, networking, and physical infrastructure interfaces where required to support successful technology integration.
- Develop mechanisms, standard work, documentation, and best practices that improve deployment consistency, quality, and scalability.
- Provide clear program updates, risk assessments, escalation paths, and recommendations to senior leadership and execution teams.
- Use data and metrics to evaluate deployment performance and identify opportunities to improve processes, resources, vendor performance, and execution models.
- Build effective partnerships across engineering, operations, construction, procurement, technology teams, and other global stakeholders to support long-term scalability of deployment programs.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements
- Experience working cross-functionally across several teams both technical and non-technical
- Experience in project management including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status and prioritizing tasks
- 3+ years of Excel (including VBA, pivot tables, array functions, power pivots, etc.) and data visualization tools such as Tableau experience
- Experience managing and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- PMP certificate
- Experience building scalable programs and repeatable scalable processes, levering various tools and methods to create scale and efficiency
- Experience working with multiple groups of stakeholders
- Experience with one or more infrastructure domains such as electrical systems, HVAC, controls and automation, material handling equipment, metering, sensing technologies, networking, or building systems.
- Experience operating in a geographically distributed, multi-site environment.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
