- Partner with leadership and operations teams on capture planning and positioning for strategic pursuits before the RFP is released.
- Coordinate with joint venture and teaming partners to establish consistent messaging, responsibilities, schedules, and deliverables.
- Conduct quality and compliance reviews to ensure proposals are responsive, accurate, compelling, and visually polished.
- Participate in client debriefs and capture lessons learned to continuously improve future pursuits.
- Maintain and enhance Myers' proposal resources, including resumes, project descriptions, boilerplate content, photography, graphics, and pursuit information.

Senior Level Proposal Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level proposal manager job?
Employers at this level look for candidates who have owned full proposal lifecycles, not just contributed to them. Demonstrating experience leading color reviews, managing proposal teams, and winning competitive bids gives a strong edge. Familiarity with Shipley methodology, compliance matrices, and volume management signals the operational depth senior roles require. Tailoring your application to show measurable win rates and specific contract values you have supported strengthens your candidacy considerably.
Which companies hire senior level proposal managers?
Companies hiring senior level proposal managers right now include Myers & Sons Construction, GFT, and Skanska, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level tends to concentrate in government contractors, professional services firms, and defense and aerospace organizations where complex multi-volume proposal efforts require experienced leadership.
Are there remote senior level proposal manager jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and contract requirements. About 50% of senior level proposal manager openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the document-driven nature of proposal work. Federal contractors with classified programs or facility-specific requirements are more likely to require on-site presence, so review each listing carefully before applying.
What makes a proposal manager role senior level?
Senior level proposal manager roles are defined by full ownership of proposal strategy and delivery, not execution under direction. These positions involve setting win themes, directing writers and coordinators, managing multiple concurrent bids, and interfacing directly with business development leadership. Mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements across the proposal function are also common expectations that distinguish senior roles from mid-level positions.
Which industries hire the most senior level proposal managers?
Senior Level proposal manager roles concentrate in Construction & Real Estate, Consulting & Professional Services, and Energy, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because they compete regularly for large government contracts, defense programs, or enterprise services agreements that require structured, experienced proposal leadership to win.
