Position Purpose:
The Corporate Communications Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manager in driving strategic collaboration with various corporate functions, planning, tactical execution and measurement of corporate PR initiatives through mainstream and social media channels. In addition, the Corporate Communications Specialist will assist in responding to daily inquiries by local and industry trade media, as well as various inquiries received through social media channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and edit corporate press releases, media kit materials, issue briefs, and other communications materials
- Develop key messaging for various corporate initiatives
- Research and develop unique content to support corporate PR and social media efforts
- Conduct proactive media outreach and strategic story development
- Respond to various local and industry trade media inquiries
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key field contacts
- Assist in coordinating local media opportunities with stores or functional field leadership
- Assist with requests from outside organizations for occasional speaking appearances by functional leaders and award entries
- Occasionally, respond to inquiries regarding customer service issues
- Research the public impact of various proactive and reactive media initiatives
- Monitor results and develop reporting for key functional stakeholders
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
Report to Sr. Manager Corporate Communication
Travel Requirements:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
