Entry Level Purchasing Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level purchasing manager job?
Employers hiring at this level look for coursework or internship experience in supply chain, procurement, or logistics, along with familiarity with purchase orders and vendor communication. A degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field helps, but candidates who can show hands-on experience negotiating with suppliers or managing inventory data during an internship tend to stand out from the pool.
Which companies hire entry level purchasing managers?
Companies hiring entry level purchasing managers right now include IGT, East West Bank, and Surveillance One, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and healthcare organizations that run active procurement teams and regularly bring on junior buyers to support senior staff.
Are there remote entry level purchasing manager jobs?
Yes, though most entry level purchasing manager roles are on-site or hybrid given the hands-on nature of vendor coordination and inventory work. About 2% of entry level purchasing manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, so candidates open to on-site positions will find the widest range of opportunities at this stage.
Are these new grad purchasing manager jobs?
Yes, many of these openings are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome recent graduates and candidates with little or no professional experience. A new grad-friendly posting typically lists zero to two years of experience as acceptable, counts internships or co-ops toward that requirement, and treats a relevant academic project or portfolio as a legitimate credential alongside a degree.
Which industries hire the most entry level purchasing managers?
Entry Level purchasing manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they manage large, ongoing supplier relationships and need junior buyers to handle purchase order processing, vendor follow-up, and sourcing research under the guidance of experienced procurement teams.
