What You'll Do
- Inspect and evaluate mechanical equipment and HVAC systems throughout the construction phase and up to the handover to the end-users. This involves examining various systems such as boilers, chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, pumps, fans, air handlers, ductwork, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and project specifications
- Identify deficiencies, defects, damages, or non-compliance issues. Inspector to have technical knowledge to provide recommendations for issue resolution or improvements
- Prepare inspection reports following each inspection. Inspector to prepare detailed reports summarizing their findings, including any deficiencies, observations, or violations. These reports are to be shared with Project Team
- Review design plans, specifications, submittals, and vendor instructions to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards, and to provide feedback and recommendations to designers or contractors to address any issues
- Collaborate with project stakeholders, such as contractors, engineers, equipment vendors and other Construction team to coordinate inspections, address concerns, and provide guidance on mechanical equipment and HVAC systems
What You'll Bring
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering; OR equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- Over 5 years of HVAC and mechanical equipment inspection experience
- Preferred prior experience with 3rd Party Inspection companies
- Understanding HVAC and mechanical systems and basic operation
- Comprehension of relevant Codes, specifications, vendor documents, and industry standards
- Excellent problem-identification and resolution skills. Enthusiastic for continuous improvement and learning
- Excellent communication, documentation, and software skills with the ability to understand complex problems and distill the message into a clear plan. Being able to operate in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high quality projects
