Position Summary:
The quality supervisor leads and sustains quality assurance activities at a facility level. Mentors and supports Quality Technicians. Supports QMS by expertly performing critical quality duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support plant level quality teams across to create “one team, one direction” mindset, align scope and duties with quality roles and responsibilities throughout the facility.
- Closely align with and support manufacturing leadership to ensure quality improvement is driven within the framework of operational, investment, and resource capabilities.

Effectively support and sustain key elements of QMS to include:

Quality processes and SOPs
- Quality management software and databases
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date work instructions and process audits for all processes
- Ensure compliance with routine quality inspections and product testing plans, incoming material inspections, non-conformance material requests, and material review boards (MRBs)
- Work to minimize External COPQ.
- Continuous improvement mindset focused on ensuring zero “ugly and obvious” defects while working to reduce and eliminate defects such as dents, dings, and blemishes.
- Support Internal QMS Audit program. Participate in Quality Audit Teams for both internal and external audits. Implement and sustain a layered process audit structure.
- Coordinate with HR and manufacturing to ensure new employee onboarding contains effective assimilation to work instructions and our quality culture, tools, and processes.
- Administer CAPA with troubleshooting of supplier, internal, and customer quality issues.
- Work closely with company personnel to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in the development, documentation, and implementation of the controls necessary to achieve consistent and reproducible processes.
- Assist in the development of a LEAN culture.
- Read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications and procedure manuals.
- Provide statistical evaluations and training as needed.
- Audit production lines using in-process audit forms.
- Assist or initiate problem-solving or continuous improvement activities.
- Assist in incoming Inspections on material received from an outside source.
- Coordinate NCR/MRB activities and communicate as needed.
- Lead and mentor Quality technicians.
- Effectively manage quality coordinator and technicians using annual performance objectives.
- Facilitate development of Work Instructions at the site level to help maintain documented procedures to ensure manufactured and purchased products conform to specified requirements.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Directly supervises and indirectly supervises team members. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Must be able to follow instructions and offer suggestions on how to improve production.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, specifications and procedure manuals.
- Work to ensure the department’s quality and production requirements will be met.
- Timely and accurately performed work.
- Development of positive working relationships.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Education:
- Additional Professional Certifications preferred.
Experience:
- 1+ year of manufacturing experience.
- 1+ year of QA experience preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- MS Office.
