Real Estate Jobs in Columbus: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a real estate job in Columbus?
The strongest path into Columbus real estate runs through its residential brokerage houses, property management companies serving the university corridor and Short North, and commercial development firms active Downtown and in the Easton area. Candidates who know Columbus neighborhoods, have hands-on leasing or client-facing experience, and can point to local market familiarity consistently stand out over applicants with purely generic backgrounds.
Which companies hire real estates in Columbus?
Employers hiring real estates in Columbus right now include NOVOGRADAC & COMPANY, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, and HDR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Columbus draws a mix of regional brokerages, national property management operators, and commercial development firms with active portfolios across the metro area.
Are there remote real estate jobs in Columbus?
Yes, though only selectively. Property showings, site inspections, and leasing roles are almost always on-site by nature, while transaction coordination, marketing, and real estate analytics roles can go remote or hybrid. About 50% of real estate openings tied to Columbus are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the desk-based and administrative side of the industry accounting for most of those flexible arrangements locally.
How can I get a real estate job in Columbus with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Columbus is a leasing consultant or property assistant role with one of the city's large apartment operators serving the Ohio State University corridor, Grandview, or Franklinton. These employers hire entry-level candidates, train on the job, and promote into full leasing or management roles. Strong local knowledge of Columbus neighborhoods and a customer-service background give first-time applicants a concrete edge over candidates without Columbus familiarity.
Which industries hire the most real estates in Columbus?
Most real estate openings in Columbus sit in Banking & Financial Services, Fintech, and Airlines, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Columbus's sustained population growth, active university housing market, and ongoing commercial development Downtown and in suburban corridors keep demand across those sectors consistently high.
