Registered Dietitian Jobs in Memphis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a registered dietitian job in Memphis?
The strongest path into Memphis registered dietitian work runs through its large hospital systems and the growing network of federally qualified health centers serving underserved communities across Shelby County. Candidates with clinical rotation experience in inpatient or oncology settings stand out, as do those with community nutrition backgrounds given Memphis's public health priorities. Targeting long-term care facilities and outpatient clinics in Midtown and East Memphis also opens consistent entry points.
Which companies hire registered dietitians in Memphis?
Employers hiring registered dietitians in Memphis right now include Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, Select Specialty Hospital, and Health Loft, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Memphis's hiring base is anchored by large health systems, regional hospital networks, and long-term care and rehabilitation providers that maintain ongoing dietitian staffing needs throughout the year.
Are there remote registered dietitian jobs in Memphis?
Yes, though remote availability is limited since most registered dietitian roles require direct patient assessment and hands-on clinical work. About 11% of registered dietitian openings tied to Memphis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, covering roles where the work suits virtual delivery. Telehealth nutrition counseling and chronic disease management coordination are the Memphis segments most likely to offer remote or hybrid arrangements.
How can I get a registered dietitian job in Memphis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Memphis is through dietary aide or nutrition services technician roles at area hospital systems, which regularly hire candidates building toward full dietitian credentialing. Community health organizations and Memphis-area federally qualified health centers also take on early-career dietitians for nutrition education outreach. Volunteering with Mid-South Food Bank or similar local food security programs builds practical experience and local professional connections that hiring managers recognize.
Which industries hire the most registered dietitians in Memphis?
Memphis registered dietitian roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Memphis's high rates of diet-related chronic disease, combined with its dense cluster of regional medical facilities and a growing outpatient care infrastructure, sustain consistent employer demand for registered dietitians across those sectors.
