Job Title: Director of Operations, Registered Professional Land Surveyor (Licensed in TEXAS)
Summary/Objective:
The Director of Operations, RPLS, will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the department, providing strategic direction, and ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standard.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction for the survey and mapping team.
- Manage the department's budget and resources.
- Oversee the design and execution of survey and mapping projects.
- Participate in planning and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency.
- Establish work plans and staffing requirements for multiple projects.
- Participate in business development opportunities and maintain strong client relationships.
- Develop and conduct presentations to clients and other critical stakeholders.
- Effectively interface with sub-consultants and as well as other business relationships.
- Provide support to other operational units as needed.
- Represent company interests while in meetings and trade shows as needed.
Qualifications:
- B.S. Surveying or related field preferred.
- Registered Professional Land Surveyor (Licensed in TEXAS)
- Demonstrated experience in project/phase management.
- Strong proficiency with or understanding of tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ORD Open Roads, MS Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members.
- Ability to oversee, mentor, and motivate a team.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Regularly engage in sitting, standing, or walking activities.
- Occasionally handle lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items of varying weights.
- Perform reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, or twisting motions as needed.
- Other physical requirements may arise depending on job tasks.
- Work may be conducted at a desk or workstation situated in confined areas.
- Experience moderate levels of noise indoors and outdoors.
- Flexibility to work overtime and occasional weekends as required.
