Registered Nurse Case Manager Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a registered nurse case manager job in Indianapolis?
Indianapolis hiring concentrates in three areas: large health systems anchoring the north and northwest sides, managed care and commercial insurance carriers headquartered downtown, and home health and post-acute networks serving the metro suburbs. Candidates with utilization review experience or CCM certification move faster in this market. Targeting employers in the insurance and payer sector gives you the widest pool, since those roles turn over more frequently than hospital-based positions.
Which companies hire registered nurse case managers in Indianapolis?
Employers hiring registered nurse case managers in Indianapolis right now include Alternate Solutions Health Network, Ascension at Home together with Compassus, and Amedisys, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The Indianapolis market is especially active among payer-side employers and regional health systems, which together account for a large share of local case management openings.
Are there remote registered nurse case manager jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though availability depends on the setting: telephonic and utilization management roles are the most remote-friendly, while hospital-based or field care coordination positions typically require on-site presence. About 50% of registered nurse case manager openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the strongest remote concentration among insurance and managed care employers headquartered downtown.
How can I get a registered nurse case manager job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is through a discharge planning or utilization review role at one of the city's major health systems, where new graduates with med-surg or ICU backgrounds are commonly considered. Home health agencies operating across the metro suburbs also hire nurses into care coordinator titles that build the documentation and payer communication skills case management employers look for. A CCM credential, even if in progress, signals intent and strengthens applications at the insurance-carrier employers downtown.
Which industries hire the most registered nurse case managers in Indianapolis?
Indianapolis registered nurse case manager roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indianapolis's status as a national insurance and managed care hub, combined with its large integrated health system presence, makes those sectors the dominant drivers of local case management demand.
