About us
Desert Canyon Surgery Center is the private, state licensed, AAAHC accredited surgery center for Starkman Facial Plastic Surgery and Palomo Facial Plastic Surgery in North Scottsdale. Our three operating rooms are dedicated to facial plastic and reconstructive surgery: facelifts, rhinoplasty, eyelid and brow surgery, neck lifts, fat grafting, and related procedures. We are a small, focused team with elective cases, healthy patients, and a predictable daytime schedule.

The role
We are hiring a full time Registered Nurse to care for our patients from pre-op through discharge. You will admit and prepare patients, circulate cases, recover patients in PACU, and send them home safely with clear instructions. This is an in person role at our Scottsdale surgery center. The schedule is four shifts a week of 8 to 9 hours each (32 to 36 hours), daytime, Monday through Friday, with participation in the RN emergency call rotation. Pay is $50 to $55 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Admit patients, complete pre-op assessments, start IVs, and verify consents, H&Ps, and medical clearances
• Circulate cases, including room setup, patient positioning, safety checks, and counts with the surgical technologist
• Recover patients in PACU, monitor vital signs and airway, and manage pain and nausea
• Provide clear discharge teaching to patients and caregivers
• Document accurately and on time in the EHR
• Perform crash cart, malignant hyperthermia cart, and emergency equipment checks
• Support controlled substance counts and medication safety
• Help turn over rooms, stock supplies, and keep the center survey ready
• Participate in emergency drills, annual education, and quality improvement
• Take part in the RN emergency call rotation
• Follow AAAHC, Arizona state, and infection control standards every day

What we are looking for

• Active Arizona or compact RN license in good standing
• At least two years of perioperative experience (OR, pre-op, or PACU)
• Comfortable circulating and recovering patients
• BLS and ACLS certification, or willingness to obtain ACLS before your start date
• Calm, organized, and detail oriented, with excellent patient communication skills
• Reliable and punctual, with a hands on, do what needs doing attitude

Nice to have

• BSN
• CNOR, CAPA, or CPAN certification
• Experience in facial plastic surgery, plastic surgery, ENT, or another ambulatory surgery center
• Experience with SIS or a similar EHR
