Clinical Medical Assistant Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a clinical medical assistant in Arizona?
Arizona does not require a state-issued license for clinical medical assistants, so the path to employment runs through education and national certification. Most Arizona employers prefer candidates who have completed an accredited medical assisting program at a community college or vocational school, such as those offered through Maricopa County Community College District or Pima Community College. Earning a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential through the AAMA or a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the AMT significantly strengthens your candidacy.
Which companies hire clinical medical assistants in Arizona?
Arizona clinical medical assistant roles are posted by IntraCare, Center for Neurosciences, and Radiology and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Arizona's large integrated health systems and multi-site outpatient networks are the most consistent source of full-time openings across the state.
Which Arizona cities have the most clinical medical assistant jobs?
Tucson, Phoenix, and Mesa have the most clinical medical assistant openings in Arizona. Phoenix dominates because it anchors the state's largest hospital systems and a dense network of specialty and urgent care clinics, while Tucson's University of Arizona Health Network and Scottsdale's concentration of high-volume outpatient practices drive strong hiring in those metros as well.
Are there remote clinical medical assistant jobs in Arizona?
Yes, but they're rare. The clinical medical assistant role is primarily hands-on, requiring in-person patient contact for tasks like taking vitals, administering injections, and assisting with procedures. About 0% of clinical medical assistant openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions typically involve telehealth support, patient scheduling coordination, or care navigation duties rather than direct clinical work.
How can I get hired as a clinical medical assistant in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to new-graduate or extern positions offered by large Arizona health systems, which routinely bring on candidates who have completed a medical assisting program's clinical externship component. Banner Health and Dignity Health both run structured onboarding tracks for new graduates. Candidates coming from adjacent roles such as patient service representative, phlebotomist, or medical receptionist can leverage existing patient-facing experience. Completing your CMA or RMA certification before applying gives you a clear edge over uncertified candidates, even at the entry level.
Where can I find and apply to clinical medical assistant jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to clinical medical assistant jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arizona openings across health systems, outpatient clinics, and urgent care networks. Search the listings to find roles that match your credentials and experience level, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
