Registered Nurse Jobs in Tampa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a registered nurse job in Tampa?
Focus your search on Tampa's largest employer concentrations: the hospital campuses anchoring the USF Health Medical District, the Veterans Affairs network in Bay Pines, and the growing chain of outpatient surgical and specialty centers along the Dale Mabry and Westshore corridors. Candidates with ICU, emergency, or telemetry experience move fastest here. Applying directly to systems rather than waiting for agency placements gives you the strongest footing in a competitive local market.
Which companies hire registered nurses in Tampa?
Companies currently hiring registered nurses in Tampa include Moffitt Cancer Center, American Traveler, and AdventHealth Tampa, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Tampa's hiring landscape is anchored by large integrated health systems, specialty surgery centers, and public-sector facilities including VA campuses serving the greater Bay Area.
Are there remote registered nurse jobs in Tampa?
Yes, though remote work is limited for registered nurses since most roles require direct patient care in clinical settings. About 100% of registered nurse openings tied to Tampa are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, concentrated in utilization review, case management, and telehealth triage. Tampa's growing insurance and managed care presence along the Westshore business corridor supports the largest share of those remote-eligible positions.
How can I get a registered nurse job in Tampa with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Tampa is applying to new graduate residency programs offered by the major hospital systems in the USF Health Medical District, which are structured to onboard nurses without prior acute care experience. Rehab facilities, long-term acute care hospitals, and assisted living networks in the Brandon and New Tampa suburbs also hire new graduates at higher rates than large urban ERs. Earning BLS and ACLS certifications before applying strengthens every application in this market.
