Registered Nurse Jobs in Minneapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a registered nurse job in Minneapolis?
Focus your search on Minneapolis's major hospital systems and the dense cluster of outpatient and specialty clinics anchored around the University of Minnesota Medical Center and Fairview Health corridors. Candidates with ICU, emergency, or surgical experience move fastest in this market. Earning a BSN and holding current BLS and ACLS certifications gives you a measurable edge over ADN-only applicants competing for the same roles at large Twin Cities health networks.
Which companies hire registered nurses in Minneapolis?
Employers hiring registered nurses in Minneapolis right now include Fairview Health Services, Allina Health, and Hennepin Healthcare, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Minneapolis draws a mix of large integrated health systems, specialty hospitals, and a growing network of outpatient and ambulatory care centers that hire across nearly every nursing specialty.
Are there remote registered nurse jobs in Minneapolis?
Yes, though options are limited by nature since most registered nurse roles require hands-on, in-person patient care. About 22% of registered nurse openings tied to Minneapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to cluster in utilization review, case management, triage, and telephone health coaching rather than direct bedside care.
How can I get a registered nurse job in Minneapolis with little or no experience?
New graduates find the most realistic entry point through residency and nurse fellowship programs offered by large Minneapolis hospital systems, which are structured to transition newly licensed nurses into high-acuity units over 12 to 18 months. Long-term care facilities and rehabilitation centers in neighborhoods like Uptown and Northeast Minneapolis also hire new graduates regularly. Completing a capstone clinical rotation at a Twin Cities health network and expressing willingness to work nights or weekends strengthens your application considerably.
Which industries hire the most registered nurses in Minneapolis?
Most registered nurse openings in Minneapolis sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Technology & Software, and Science & Research, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Minneapolis benefits from a high concentration of nationally ranked medical institutions, a large aging population in surrounding Hennepin County suburbs, and a growing behavioral health and outpatient specialty sector that continues to expand hiring across the metro.
