Registered Nurse Jobs in Nashville: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a registered nurse job in Nashville?
Target Nashville's dense medical corridor, which runs through Midtown and the areas surrounding the Vanderbilt University Medical Center campus, where acute care, surgical, and specialty units post openings frequently. Large health systems and specialty hospitals drive most hiring, so applying directly to their talent portals alongside Migrate Mate listings gives you the broadest reach. Candidates with ICU, trauma, or perioperative experience tend to move fastest in this market.
Which companies hire registered nurses in Nashville?
Companies currently hiring registered nurses in Nashville include Ascension, Vanderbilt University Medical Center, and TriStar Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nashville's employer mix leans heavily toward large academic medical centers, community hospital networks, and specialty surgical facilities, reflecting the city's role as one of the country's most active healthcare industry hubs.
Are there remote registered nurse jobs in Nashville?
Yes, but they are limited, since most registered nurse roles require direct patient care in clinical settings. About 10% of registered nurse openings tied to Nashville are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in roles like care management, utilization review, and telephonic triage. Nashville's large managed care and health insurance employer base makes it a stronger market for these remote clinical roles than most comparably sized cities.
How can I get a registered nurse job in Nashville with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Nashville is applying to new-graduate residency programs offered by the large academic medical centers and community hospital networks in the Midtown and Medical Center areas. These structured programs hire cohorts of new graduates into med-surg, telemetry, and general acute care units, providing the supervised transition experience that most hiring managers require before placing nurses in high-acuity settings. Completing clinical rotations at Nashville facilities also puts your name in front of local nurse recruiters early.
Which industries hire the most registered nurses in Nashville?
Most registered nurse openings in Nashville sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nashville's standing as a national center for for-profit hospital systems, managed care companies, and ambulatory surgery networks concentrates registered nurse demand well beyond what a city of its size would otherwise support.
