Entry Level Reliability Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level reliability engineer job?
Entry level reliability engineer roles favor candidates who can show practical experience with reliability concepts, even from academic projects, internships, or lab work. Familiarity with failure analysis, preventive maintenance principles, or tools like FMEA gives you a concrete edge. A portfolio demonstrating a real problem you diagnosed or a process you improved resonates more with hiring managers than coursework alone.
Which companies hire entry level reliability engineers?
Companies hiring entry level reliability engineers right now include TikTok USDS JV, SpaceX, and TikTok, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers large manufacturers, energy and utilities companies, and defense contractors, many of which run formal early-career engineering programs designed to develop junior talent from the ground up.
Are there remote entry level reliability engineer jobs?
Yes, though most entry level reliability engineer roles require some on-site presence given the hands-on nature of the work. About 29% of entry level reliability engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid arrangements most common in industries where data analysis and reporting can be handled off-site.
Are these new grad reliability engineer jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior reliability engineer roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or co-op work as qualifying experience, or explicitly invites candidates to submit a portfolio in place of a long work history. Look for language like 'entry level,' 'new grad,' or 'no experience required' in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level reliability engineers?
Entry Level reliability engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at the entry level because their operations depend on equipment uptime and process consistency, creating steady demand for junior engineers who can support maintenance programs and reliability data analysis.
