Job description
Access Ventures is an investment firm focused on backing exceptional companies and founders across venture capital, with a particular emphasis on AI, robotics, frontier technology, and other transformative sectors. We work on complex transactions, build long-term relationships with founders and investors, and constantly look for better ways to execute at a high level.
We're looking for an exceptional Chief of Staff to work directly with the founders. This is not an Executive Assistant role. We already have an EA. Instead, this is a high-impact, highly analytical role for someone who enjoys solving difficult problems, driving strategic initiatives, and making things happen.
The Role
The Chief of Staff serves as an extension of the founders, helping turn ideas into execution. One day you may be coordinating a complex fundraising initiative, or researching a new market opportunity. The next day you may be negotiating with vendors, coordinating multiple stakeholders across jurisdictions, or building a model to help inform an investment or operational decision.
You'll move comfortably between strategy and execution. You're equally happy discussing the big picture and rolling up your sleeves to solve the small details that make projects successful.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys learning quickly, and genuinely likes solving hard problems.
What You'll Do
- Drive strategic projects from concept through execution.
- Act as the central point of coordination across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Structure ambiguous problems, develop recommendations, and implement solutions.
- Conduct research and analysis across investments, operations, markets, and strategic initiatives.
- Manage cross-functional projects involving legal, finance, compliance, investors, founders, and service providers.
- Prepare materials for meetings, fundraising, investment discussions, and strategic decisions.
- Follow through relentlessly to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Anticipate issues before they arise and proactively develop solutions.
- Take ownership of new initiatives with minimal direction.
Who You Are
- Exceptionally analytical and intellectually curious.
- A natural problem solver who enjoys tackling difficult, unstructured challenges.
- Highly resourceful—you find answers even when there isn't an obvious playbook.
- Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
- Strong project manager who can coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communicator.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities evolve.
- Low ego, high ownership, and willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.
What Matters Most
More than any specific background, we're looking for two qualities:
- Attitude: You are positive, proactive, accountable, and genuinely excited by challenging work.
- Aptitude: You learn quickly, think critically, and consistently figure things out.
Experience is valuable, but curiosity, judgment, resilience, and execution matter even more.
How to Apply
Please include the following with your application:
- Why are you interested in joining Access Ventures as Chief of Staff?
- Describe a time when you solved a difficult problem through creativity, analytical thinking, or resourcefulness. What was the situation, what did you do, and what was the outcome?
- Tell us about a time you demonstrated grit or perseverance. What challenge did you face, and how did you overcome it?
We care far more about how you think, solve problems, and execute than having the "perfect" résumé.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year

Tips for Your Remote Chief Of Staff Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote chief of staff openings from across the U.S. in one place. Search for roles that match your background and apply directly, without sorting through listings that mix remote and on-site.
Prove async communication skills upfront
Remote chief of staff hiring moves fast, and employers screen for written clarity before the first call. Lead your application materials with writing samples, memos, or executive briefs that show you can synthesize and communicate strategy without a meeting.
Target remote-first companies over hybrid employers
Remote-first organizations already have the infrastructure and culture for a fully distributed chief of staff. Look for companies whose entire team works remotely, not those treating remote as an exception, because your onboarding and day-to-day will be structured for it.
Showcase cross-functional remote project ownership
Remote employers want evidence you've coordinated across functions without in-person authority. Highlight specific projects where you drove alignment among distributed stakeholders using tools like Notion, Asana, or Slack, and name the outcomes you owned.
Remote Chief Of Staff Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote chief of staff job?
Remote chief of staff roles go to candidates who demonstrate they can operate with high autonomy, move fast without in-person check-ins, and communicate strategy clearly in writing. Remote-first companies and distributed startups screen heavily for async communication skills, comfort with ambiguity, and a history of driving cross-functional projects without hand-holding. Experience as a chief of staff, executive assistant, or operations lead, paired with strong written deliverables you can show, gives you a clear edge.
Which companies hire remote chief of staffs?
Remote chief of staff roles are posted by CVS Health, Goop, and Nift and others right now, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first technology companies, venture-backed startups, and distributed professional services firms hire most actively for this role.
Can you get a remote chief of staff job with no experience?
Yes, but remote chief of staff roles are harder to land without experience because you're expected to self-direct from day one with little in-person guidance. Entry paths include operations coordinator or executive assistant roles at remote-first companies, where you build the async communication and project management skills remote employers want. Showing documented results, a structured work sample, or a portfolio of initiatives you've owned independently substitutes for a formal title.
Do you need a degree for remote chief of staff jobs?
Not always. Remote employers hiring chief of staffs weigh demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, synthesize information for executives, and drive projects to completion more heavily than a specific credential. A strong record of operational or strategic work, written communication samples, and familiarity with tools like Notion, Slack, or project management software often matters more than where you studied.
Which industries hire the most remote chief of staffs?
Remote chief of staff roles concentrate in Insurance and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors hire remotely because their teams are already distributed, so the chief of staff role is built for asynchronous coordination from the start.
