Overview
Sunpath Solar is seeking an organized, personable, and sales-oriented Inside Sales & Community Engagement Manager to help manage the front end of our sales process and ensure prospective customers receive a responsive, professional, and educational experience. This is a blended role combining inside sales, sales administration, customer engagement, and community outreach. The majority of the position is focused on managing inbound leads, qualifying prospective customers, maintaining our CRM and sales pipeline, coordinating appointments and handoffs, following up with opportunities, and supporting the broader sales team. The role also serves as an important public-facing representative of Sunpath, helping build relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, houses of worship, schools, local governments, and other partners.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people but is also highly organized and process-oriented — someone who can have a great conversation with a prospective customer and then make sure every note, task, document, and next step is accurately captured and followed through. The role is approximately 70% inside sales and sales administration, with the remaining time focused on customer education, sales support, and community engagement.
Description
Inside Sales & Lead Management
- Serve as a primary point of contact for inbound leads from phone, email, website inquiries, referrals, marketing campaigns, and community events.
- Qualify prospective customers by gathering project goals, property and utility information, timelines, decision-making criteria, and required supporting documents.
- Schedule consultations and proposal reviews, maintain consistent follow-up with active and older leads, and re-engage opportunities that have stalled.
- Provide introductory education about solar, battery storage, financing, incentives, project timelines, and Sunpath's sales and installation process.
Sales Administration & CRM
- Maintain complete and accurate CRM records, including lead status, customer communications, qualification notes, appointments, and follow-up tasks.
- Manage the flow of opportunities through the sales pipeline and coordinate effective handoffs to outside sales representatives and other team members.
- Develop and maintain CRM best practices, dashboards, KPIs, reporting, and sales SOPs from initial inquiry through project turnover.
- Support proposal follow-up, appointment confirmation, customer communications, and other activities needed to move qualified opportunities toward contract.
- Identify and implement improvements to lead intake, follow-up, CRM management, and sales processes.
Community Engagement & Outreach
- Develop and maintain relationships with neighborhood organizations, nonprofits, schools, houses of worship, municipal partners, and other community organizations.
- Develop, coordinate, and represent Sunpath at community events, workshops, tabling opportunities, speaking engagements, and other outreach activities.
- Coordinate event materials and outreach efforts with Marketing, and ensure resulting leads are captured, qualified, and followed up through the sales process.
- Track community engagement activities and outcomes to evaluate the effectiveness of events and partnerships.
Additional Sales Responsibilities
- Participate in ongoing training on solar technology, products, financing, policy, and Sunpath's consultation process.
- As assigned, present, manage, and close specific sales opportunities in addition to the role's primary inside-sales responsibilities.
- Provide general support for the Atlanta office, including coordination of facilities, vendors, deliveries, and workspace needs as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who is also exceptionally organized. They should enjoy talking with customers, asking questions, following up, and helping people navigate a decision, while also being comfortable managing CRM systems, tracking details, maintaining processes, and holding themselves accountable for follow-through.
We would especially value candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Inside sales
- Sales coordination or sales administration
- Customer service or customer success
- CRM administration
- Business development
- Community engagement or outreach
- Solar, home improvement, construction, or other consultative sales environments
Solar industry experience is helpful but not required. The ability to learn technical information, communicate clearly, stay organized, and consistently follow through is more important.

Tips for Your Remote Community Manager Job Search
Show your async communication style upfront
Remote community managers spend most of their day writing, not talking. Include writing samples, thread moderation examples, or community update posts in your application materials so hiring teams can see how you communicate without a meeting.
Target remote-first companies specifically
Companies built as remote-first organizations hire community managers with fewer location constraints and clearer remote workflows. Look for companies whose careers pages explicitly describe distributed teams, async-first culture, or documented communication processes.
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote community manager openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly without sorting through unrelated listings.
Document the platforms and tools you know
Remote employers screen for platform fluency early. Name the specific tools you've used, whether Discord, Circle, Khoros, or Slack, and describe what you managed inside them. Generic platform references don't tell a hiring manager what you can actually do.
Remote Community Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote community manager job?
Remote community manager roles go to candidates who can demonstrate they work well without an in-office support system. Distributed teams hire for strong async written communication, self-direction, and platform fluency in tools like Discord, Slack, or Circle. Showcasing a community you've grown, a content calendar you've managed, or engagement metrics you've moved gives your application a concrete edge over a resume alone.
Which companies hire remote community managers?
Remote community manager roles are posted by ACT, Associa, and Action Property Management and others right now, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Remote-first software companies, gaming studios, and fintech platforms make up the bulk of consistent hiring, since their user bases are distributed and their teams are already built to operate asynchronously.
Can you get a remote community manager job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level community manager roles are harder to land because employers expect you to manage yourself from day one with minimal hand-holding. To open the door, build something real: moderate a Discord server, run a brand's social community as a volunteer, or document engagement growth you drove. Remote-first startups and creator economy companies are the most likely to hire someone early if the work is visible.
Do you need a degree for remote community manager jobs?
Not always. Remote employers weigh demonstrated community-building skills, platform fluency, and measurable results more heavily than credentials for this role. A portfolio showing community growth, moderation experience, or a successful engagement campaign carries more weight than a diploma in many hiring conversations, particularly at tech companies and startups that hire remotely.
Which industries hire the most remote community managers?
Most remote community manager openings sit in Technology & Software, Government & Public Sector, and Healthcare & Medical Services, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. These sectors hire community managers remotely because their products serve global or distributed user bases, and their internal teams are already structured to work and communicate across time zones.
