Who We Are
The Outreach Team is the national engine of campaigners and organizers powering the progressive movement. These campaigns work to build a future that is fairer, cleaner, safer, and more peaceful for everyone.
About the Position
The Finance & Operations Team plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth financial, compliance, and operations processes that enable our field teams to focus on winning campaigns. We do this by managing the full cycle of financial processes and providing support to the project teams to ensure they have what they need to operate and keep everything in compliance.
In the Finance & Operations Administrator role, you'll assist the finance and operations department as they support our campaigns. You’ll assist the finance team with the month-close process, work closely with the compliance team to help manage the review and execution of new office leases, and dive into occasional HR compliance research. You'll support our internal departments by troubleshooting issues, creating tracking tools, and ensuring our processes actually work for the people using them.

Tips for Your Remote Finance Administrator Job Search
Prove your async finance skills upfront
Remote finance administrators spend more time communicating in writing than in meetings. List the cloud accounting platforms you use, note any experience preparing written financial summaries or async status updates, and let your cover letter model the clarity remote teams expect.
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote finance administrator openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly without sorting through unrelated listings.
Target companies built for distributed finance work
Remote-first technology companies and cloud-based professional services firms have finance workflows already designed for remote staff. Focusing your search on organizations that use NetSuite, Xero, or similar cloud platforms signals a genuine remote setup rather than a temporary arrangement.
Prepare for a remote-style interview process
Remote finance administrator interviews often include a short practical task, such as reconciling a sample ledger or categorizing expenses in a shared spreadsheet. Practice working in shared documents under time pressure so you can demonstrate accuracy and composure in a live remote setting.
Remote Finance Administrator Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote finance administrator job?
Target companies that already run distributed finance teams, such as remote-first technology firms, digital-native startups, and cloud-based professional services organizations. Remote employers screen heavily for self-direction, clear written communication, and fluency with cloud accounting platforms like QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or Xero. Candidates who document those tools on their resume and demonstrate async communication habits in interviews move to the top of the shortlist.
Which companies hire remote finance administrators?
Employers currently hiring remote finance administrators include ING, Deutsche Bank, and The Outreach Team, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first technology companies, distributed professional services firms, and growing SaaS businesses are among the most consistent hirers of finance administrators in fully remote roles.
Can you get a remote finance administrator job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level roles are harder to land because employers expect you to work independently from day one without in-person onboarding or oversight. Small remote-first startups and nonprofit organizations are more open to junior candidates. Showing proficiency in cloud accounting software, completing a bookkeeping or accounting certificate, and demonstrating organized async communication can substitute for direct experience and open doors.
Do you need a degree for remote finance administrator jobs?
Not always. Many remote employers prioritize hands-on experience with accounting systems, accuracy in financial record-keeping, and proven ability to manage accounts payable or payroll cycles over a formal degree. An associate degree in accounting or a recognized certification from AICPA or a similar body often carries as much weight as a bachelor's degree, particularly at smaller remote-first companies.
