Start in the books. Grow into a leadership seat.
We're hiring a detail-driven account manager who wants a real path from doing the work to leading it, at a firm that helps small businesses and nonprofits tell their financial story, clearly and accurately. QuickBooks Online and Desktop wiz, GAAP fluency, and cash/accrual know-how required; curiosity and comfort with AI tools strongly preferred. This position starts as Part-Time to grow into Full-Time with client load increases.
ABOUT CAMPBELL MANAGEMENT CONSULTING
Campbell Management Consulting is a bookkeeping firm that helps small businesses and nonprofits tell their financial story, clearly and professionally. We turn the numbers into something our clients can actually read, trust, and act on. Our work is anchored in our five values: Service, Trust, Optimization, Resilience, and a Yearning to Grow, the same standards we bring to every set of books we touch.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a role designed to grow. In your first months, you'll work hands-on in client books: data entry, reconciliations, and month-end close. You will learn our clients and our standards from the inside. As you build mastery and we welcome new clients, the role transitions into full Account Manager responsibility: reviewing the team's work, serving as the first point of escalation, and owning the quality of everything that reaches our clients. If you want a clear path from doing the work to leading it, this role is built for you.
WHAT YOU'LL DO FIRST
- Maintain client books in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop: categorization, journal entries, and accurate data entry
- Perform bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close
- Process payroll, sales tax filings, and 1099s
- Keep records both cash and accrual-basis and GAAP-aligned across both for-profit and nonprofit (fund accounting) clients
WHAT YOU'LL GROW INTO
- Reviewing and approving the team's work before it reaches clients
- Serving as the first point of escalation for our bookkeepers
- Owning client relationships as their primary point of contact
- Mentoring team members on bookkeeping fundamentals and CMC standards
- Supporting the year-end handoff to clients' CPAs
- Developing into fractional CFO–level advisory for clients who need strategic financial guidance
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Strong, self-starter who takes initiative and follows through
- High integrity, sharp attention to detail, and strong organization
- Strong communicator
- KPI development and tracking
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or a closely related field)
- Strong command of GAAP and accrual-basis accounting
- Multi-client or public accounting experience, i.e. you've managed several sets of books at once, not just one company's
- Deep QuickBooks Online proficiency. A ProAdvisor certification alone isn't enough. You must be able to troubleshoot quickly and resolve tricky platform issues with real fluency.
- Working proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop
- Experience with nonprofit fund accounting (or strong readiness to learn it)
- Comfort using automation and AI-assisted tools to streamline workflows. This is essential to how we work and where we're headed.
- Supervisory potential. You are ready to review others' work and grow into leadership
NICE TO HAVE
- Notion, Doublehq, AI tool fluency (Kick, Puzzle, etc)
- CPA or active progress toward it
- Experience mentoring or training junior staff
- Exposure to fractional CFO or advisory work
HOURS & PAY
Part-time, 25–30 hours per week to start, growing toward 30–40 hours as our client load increases. $30–$40 per hour, depending on experience.
HOW TO APPLY
Email your resume along with your answers to the three questions below to resume@campbellmc.com. Please set your subject line to read exactly: Reconciled & Ready — [Your Name]. We carefully review every application that follows these instructions.
APPLICATION QUESTIONS:
1. This role starts hands-on in client books and grows into reviewing others' work and managing client relationships. Tell us about a time you moved from doing the work to leading or reviewing it. What changed in how you operated, and what did you learn?
2. Describe a genuinely messy or broken situation you untangled in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop). What was wrong, how did you diagnose it, and how did you fix it?
3. You'll juggle multiple clients on both cash and accrual-basis books, including nonprofits. How do you keep several sets of books accurate and on schedule and how do you catch your own errors before they ever reach a client?
Campbell Management Consulting is an equal opportunity employer.

Tips for Your Remote Revenue Accountant Job Search
Prove you can work async before applying
Remote revenue accountant roles demand clear written communication because most collaboration happens through Slack, email, and shared documents. Include examples in your resume or cover letter of how you've documented close procedures, flagged revenue recognition issues in writing, or coordinated cross-functionally without in-person meetings.
Show ERP and billing system fluency upfront
Remote employers want to know you can operate independently in their tech stack from day one. Name the specific systems you've worked in, such as NetSuite, Salesforce CPQ, or Zuora, in your resume's skills section so hiring managers can assess fit without a follow-up call.
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote revenue accountant openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your experience and apply directly. Remote positions at distributed-team employers tend to fill faster than on-site roles, so applying promptly after a listing goes live matters.
Frame your close experience around remote readiness
Describe your month-end and quarter-end close work in terms that signal independence, like hitting close deadlines without direct supervision or reconciling deferred revenue across multiple entities in a distributed environment. Remote finance teams want evidence you can own a close cycle autonomously.
Prepare for a remote-specific interview format
Many distributed companies conduct multi-stage video interviews that include a technical accounting scenario, such as walking through a revenue recognition judgment call under ASC 606. Practice explaining your reasoning clearly on camera, because how you communicate complex accounting logic remotely is itself part of what they're evaluating.
Remote Revenue Accountant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote revenue accountant job?
Target companies that already run distributed finance teams, including remote-first SaaS firms, fintech platforms, and healthcare technology companies. Remote employers screen for self-direction, clean async written communication, and hands-on experience with revenue recognition under ASC 606. Proficiency in cloud-based ERP and billing systems like NetSuite or Salesforce CPQ gives candidates a concrete edge in remote hiring processes.
Which companies hire remote revenue accountants?
Companies hiring remote revenue accountants right now include Hopper, Karbon, and Commure, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Most are remote-first or distributed-team employers in software, fintech, and healthcare, where subscription and contract revenue models create ongoing demand for dedicated revenue accounting expertise.
Can you get a remote revenue accountant job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level roles are harder to land because employers expect you to work independently from day one with minimal supervision. Companies most likely to hire entry-level remote revenue accountants include early-stage SaaS startups and fintech firms. Candidates can strengthen their case by showing coursework in revenue recognition, hands-on experience with accounting software, and a demonstrated ability to communicate clearly in writing.
Do you need a degree for remote revenue accountant jobs?
Not always. Many remote employers require or strongly prefer a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, but what they ultimately weigh is whether you understand ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and can apply them accurately without close oversight. Candidates who show concrete results from prior revenue accounting work, relevant certifications, or strong ERP system experience can offset the absence of a formal degree.
Which industries hire the most remote revenue accountants?
Most remote revenue accountant openings sit in Technology & Software, Hospitality & Tourism, and Manufacturing, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors rely heavily on distributed finance teams to manage complex subscription, usage-based, and contract revenue streams across geographies.
