- Review, evaluate, provide feedback, and approve child maltreatment reports for decisions and disposition.
- Support the vision and strategic direction of the department and county.
- Coordinate resources, monitor, and prioritize work of the 24hr Response area during high volume call-times.
- Review decisions and support staff in effort to reduce racial disparities and disproportionality that occur at the time of screening child maltreatment reports.
- Support Rapid Response Team staff as they engage in direct field practice with children and families identified for an immediate safety response.
- Support staff in providing one on one education about child maltreatment guidelines for reporters via consultation.
- Provide feedback to staff or their direct supervisor regarding quality and accuracy of child maltreatment reports, allegation identification and screening decision, and adherence to 24hr Response area policies and practices.
- One of the following:
- Master's degree or higher in social work or closely related field (or licensed as a graduate social worker by the Minnesota Board of Social Work) and three years or more of experience as a social worker.
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or human services, and 27 quarter credits or more of graduate work in areas such as social work methods, human growth and behavior, principles of social welfare, and four years or more of supervised experience as a social worker.
- Six years or more of experience as a Senior/Psychiatric/Child Protection Social Worker at Hennepin County.
- Experience:
- With direct supervision of Child Protection Social Workers.
- Collaborating with internal and community partners.
- In the intake area of child protection or call-center supervisory experience.
- Addressing racial equity, gender equity, LGBTQIA equity, neurodiversity equity, and/or differing ability equity, either professionally or through education.
- Ability to:
- Foster an environment that recognizes and respects cultural, lifestyle, and socioeconomic differences.
- View daily work with staff for growth and development, while identifying coaching opportunities.
- Communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including other emergency responders such as Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and law enforcement.
- Knowledge of Child Maltreatment and Screening Guidelines published by the Department of Children, Youth and Families, along with current legislative updates.
Candidates with fluency in another language(s) in addition to English are encouraged to apply. Bilingual candidates who pass a language assessment may qualify for additional bilingual pay and duties.
