Duties
Joining the Customs and Border Protection, Office of Information and Technology will allow you to use your experience in applications software, policies and procedures. This position starts at a salary of $121,785.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $158,322.00 (GS-13, Step 10).

In this Information Technology Specialist (Applications Software) position, you will become a key team member of Homeland Security professionals. Typical work assignments include:
- Conducting various stages of application software development, testing, implementation, operational support.
- Working in conjunction with the application business analysts and development teams to create technical user stories and tasks.
- Making recommendations on complex technical issues and ensuring that applicable testing methods and procedures are adopted to keep pace with improvements in software testing technology and best practices.
- Recommending automation and monitoring options to senior management; identifies time, cost, and resources that are available within the agency.
