INTRODUCTION
The Research Data Analyst will conduct data analysis and assist other research team members (students, staff, and investigators) with their analyses and manuscripts. Duties will involve data management and procedures documentation; quality control; statistical programming using SAS primarily but also R, Excel, and Access; preparation of datasets including merging and codebook creation; presenting data in tabular or graphical form; assisting with presentations for scientific conferences; producing data tables and figures for journal manuscripts; and generation of preliminary data for grant proposals.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Functions of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Performing data management of electronic health record data, including extraction and cleaning of raw data, derivation of new variables, labelling and formatting of raw and derived variables, and merging complex datasets.
- Statistical analyses (descriptive statistics, stratification, multivariable regression) using SAS software and selected macros in support of research projects on maternal health.
- Documenting processes involved in data preparation, manipulation, and statistical analysis.
- Maintaining and updating research databases to facilitate accurate and up-to-date statistical analyses.
- Preparing study results for inclusion in conference presentations, grants, and scientific publications.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
A master's degree is required.
3-5 years of relevant work experience.
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
