Description:
We are seeking an outstanding individual with a solid track interest in scholarship and expertise in the fields of ocular or cancer imaging. The successful candidate will be involved in scholarship productivity within the research group. They will design and perform research projects, collect and analyze data, generate publication-quality figures, and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals. The applicant may present his/her research findings at national and international conferences. The applicant will pursue or contribute to pursuing external funding to support his/her research. The applicant will supervise trainees and technical staff and manage budgets for his/her personal grant funding.
This position is supported by grant funding for at least 12 months, and extension is contingent upon additional or continued funding.

Qualifications and Skills
- PhD in Biomedical Sciences or closely related discipline, more than 5 years experience.
- Advanced knowledge of imaging for eye disease and/or cancer.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement or supervise, and perform research projects.
- Develop and improve advanced imaging capabilities.
- Collect and analyze data, generate publication-quality figures, and publish research results in peer-reviewed journals.
- Pursue or assist in pursuing external funding to support his/her research.
- Supervise trainees and technical staff, provide expertise-specific mentoring to graduate students.
Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments.
Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidates.

Individuals conducting research in critical infrastructure areas (i.e., communication infrastructure systems, cybersecurity systems, electric grid, hazardous waste treatment systems, and/or water treatment facilities) are subject to regular review to ensure the security and integrity of the research is maintained.
