How do I get a research coordinator job in Pittsburgh?
Target Oakland and Shadyside first, where the city's academic medical centers, university-affiliated research institutes, and cancer and neuroscience programs concentrate the most openings. Clinical research, public health, and behavioral science coordinators are in steady demand. Candidates who can demonstrate IRB experience, familiarity with REDCap or similar data management tools, and prior work in a regulated research environment move to the top of local hiring lists.
Which companies hire research coordinators in Pittsburgh?

Pittsburgh's hiring is anchored by large academic health systems and university research programs, alongside a growing cluster of life sciences and biotech firms that have expanded across the East End.
Are there remote research coordinator jobs in Pittsburgh?
Yes, but only for coordinators whose work is primarily desk-based and analytical, since hands-on clinical or lab-facing roles require on-site presence. About 100% of research coordinator openings tied to Pittsburgh are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the most flexibility concentrated in survey research, health outcomes analysis, and grant coordination roles rather than interventional clinical trial support.
How can I get a research coordinator job in Pittsburgh with little or no experience?

Positions supporting community health studies, educational research at local universities, or survey-based behavioral research often require only a bachelor's degree.
