Research Dietitian Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a research dietitian job in Indianapolis?
The strongest path into Indianapolis research dietitian roles runs through the city's academic medical centers, large health systems, and the life sciences companies clustered on the north side. Candidates who pair registered dietitian credentials with clinical research experience or a graduate degree in nutrition science stand out. Volunteering or interning with one of Indianapolis's hospital-affiliated research programs before applying full-time gives you a meaningful edge in this market.
Which companies hire research dietitians in Indianapolis?
Indianapolis research dietitian roles are posted by TouchPoint Support Services, Indiana University Health, and Franciscan Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local market skews heavily toward health systems, university-affiliated research institutes, and specialty clinics with active nutrition trials.
Are there remote research dietitian jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though research dietitian roles are less remote-friendly than purely desk-based positions because many require direct patient contact, lab work, or on-site data collection. About 33% of research dietitian openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, concentrated in roles focused on data analysis, grant writing, and protocol development rather than hands-on clinical work.
How can I get a research dietitian job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Indianapolis is a research coordinator or dietetic technician role within one of the city's hospital systems or university nutrition departments, where you build clinical research exposure alongside credentialed dietitians. Indianapolis employers in pediatric nutrition and community health often hire candidates still completing their supervised practice hours. Presenting any published or in-progress research, even from coursework, signals readiness for a research-focused environment and separates you from other applicants.
Which industries hire the most research dietitians in Indianapolis?
Most research dietitian openings in Indianapolis sit in Healthcare & Medical Services and Technology & Software, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indianapolis's position as a major pharmaceutical and life sciences hub, anchored by companies headquartered downtown and along the I-465 corridor, drives consistent demand for nutrition scientists who can support clinical trials and population health research.
