The strongest path into McLean's market is through the defense, intelligence, and federal IT contracting sectors that anchor the area. Employers here prize candidates who can translate research insights into product requirements for government or regulated-industry clients. Familiarity with agile delivery in a cleared or security-conscious environment sets candidates apart, as does experience working with cross-functional teams that include policy, engineering, and data science stakeholders common in McLean.
