The Data Risk Transaction and Conformance Testing Specialist supports the execution of data quality, data testing, and conformance assessments across assigned enterprise data domains. This role assists in evaluating the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data used in regulatory reporting. The testing specialist applies foundational testing, financial reporting and data analysis skills to identify data and reporting issues, document results and support assessment of impacts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist with the establishment of data risk policies, standards, guidelines and best practices for the Bank regarding design and structure of control frameworks.
2. Develop data testing procedures and templates for various Regulatory Reports.
3. Analyze data within assigned enterprise data entities compared to source information to assess the accuracy and correctness of data.
4. Provide subject matter expertise in the planning and execution of data risk management activities such as data risk prioritization, data quality and central data risk management.
5. Subject matter expert on accounting and regulatory reporting requirements, and reporting processes for assigned area of responsibility.
6. Make informed recommendations for remediation to the Data Assessment Director, as appropriate.
7. Identify, compare and escalate identified data quality issues.
8. Utilize tools to analyze data according to defined business rules and procedures.
9. Document and publish data quality errors.
10. Communicate data quality non-compliance to data stewards and business users.
11. Update reports, track and publish data quality assessments.
12. Research and review regulatory guidance and apply to framework.
13. Represent the Data Assessment Director at enterprise-level projects relating to data governance or quality assurance, as appropriate.
14. Complete second level review work of loan level data assessments for other team members.
15. Instruct, direct and mentor other members of the team.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent education and related training.
2. Five to eight years of banking experience with an emphasis on second line of defense efforts.
3. Basic knowledge of balance sheet, income statement and cash flow information.
4. Ability to understand business rules and data lineage, work with varying data formats, and develop metrics to monitor data quality.
5. Previous experience in credit decisioning, managing credit risks, or portfolio management.
6. Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
7. Ability to lead and direct team members in completion of complex projects.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Strong analytical skills.
10. Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
11. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations affecting data quality and governance.
12. Ability to travel, occasionally overnight.

Preferred Qualifications
Big 4 Accounting/Consulting, external audit or internal audit experience in financial services

1. Understanding of GAAP, SEC reporting and Bank Regulatory Reporting (e.g., FR Y-9C, FR Y-14Q, FR 2052a)

2. Commercial lending experience

3. Experience with Truist systems and lending functions.

4. Knowledge of Truist’s credit risk management functions

5. Knowledge of data tools and platforms used for managing, storing, querying, testing, loading, and transformation of data (SAS, Informatica, Oracle, Teradata, Alteryx, Tableau, SQL, etc.).

6. CPA/FRM/CFA or equivalent advanced risk certification.
