- Help establish Cobotiq’s sales practices, market positioning, customer messaging, and long-term commercial strategy.
- Contribute across business operations, marketing, customer service, software adoption, and other company-building priorities as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Consistent, demonstrated success in B2B sales, business development, account growth, or related commercial experience.

- Successful experience with prospecting, qualifying, developing, managing and closing customer opportunities.
- Strong consultative selling skills, including discovery, value creation, and negotiation.
- Ability to sell to multiple stakeholders, including owners, executives, operations leaders, facility directors, procurement teams, and partner organizations.
- Ability to explain ROI, labor offsets, productivity gains, utilization, operating value, and long-term customer outcomes.
- Experience using CRM software to manage pipeline activity, deal stages, customer notes, and forecasting.
- Strong communication skills, professional judgment, adaptability, and attention to detail.
- Primarily in-person Richmond-based work with travel throughout Virginia for customer site visits, demos, and deployment opportunities.
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred:
- Commercial cleaning equipment or facility services
- Robotics, automation, or industrial technology

Robotics Jobs in Virginia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a robotics professional in Virginia?
Robotics roles in Virginia typically require a bachelor's degree in robotics, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or computer science, though some technician positions accept an associate degree with hands-on experience. Virginia does not issue a state-specific robotics license, but defense contractor roles commonly require a DoD security clearance. Building proficiency in ROS, PLC programming, and systems integration through coursework or project work strengthens candidacy considerably in this market.
How much do roboticses make in Virginia?
Roboticses in Virginia earn a median of about $74,880 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $48,700 for the lowest 10% to over $105,130 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire robotics professionals in Virginia?
Employers hiring robotics professionals in Virginia right now include Amazon, MOLG, and HDT Global, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Virginia's concentration of defense contractors and federal agencies in Northern Virginia and Hampton Roads means many of these employers also look for candidates with or eligible for security clearances.
Which Virginia cities have the most robotics jobs?
Fredericksburg, Richmond, and Sterling have the most robotics openings in Virginia. Northern Virginia's dense cluster of defense contractors and federal agencies drives the largest share of demand, while Hampton Roads benefits from Navy and military systems work, and Richmond draws from advanced manufacturing and logistics automation employers operating in the region.
Are there remote robotics jobs in Virginia?
Yes, but they're limited. Robotics work is largely hands-on, requiring physical access to hardware, lab environments, or manufacturing floors, which restricts full remote arrangements. About 0% of robotics openings tied to Virginia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026. The roles most likely to offer remote flexibility are robotic process automation, simulation engineering, and software-side controls development.
How can I get hired as a robotics professional in Virginia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for robotics technician or junior automation engineer roles at Virginia-based defense contractors and manufacturers, which regularly hire candidates from engineering programs at Virginia Tech, George Mason University, and Old Dominion University. Employers like Northrop Grumman and Leidos run intern-to-hire and new-grad programs that bring on candidates without industry experience. Building a project portfolio demonstrating ROS or PLC work and pursuing a Certified Automation Professional credential gives entry-level applicants a measurable edge in Virginia listings.
Where can I find and apply to robotics jobs in Virginia?
You can find and apply to robotics jobs in Virginia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Virginia openings across defense, manufacturing, and technology sectors. Find the roles that fit your experience and apply directly from the listing.
