ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator, you will champion a culture of safety by implementing proactive risk mitigation strategies and ensuring regulatory compliance. You will serve as a key partner to operations teams, leveraging your expertise in hazard identification and incident prevention to protect our workforce and optimize facility safety performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive safety programs, including routine inspections, hazard assessments, and accident investigations to drive continuous improvement.
- Facilitate engaging safety training sessions and onboarding orientations to ensure all personnel are proficient in site-specific protocols and protective equipment usage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and integrate engineering controls that effectively minimize workplace exposures.
- Manage emergency response planning, including the coordination of drills and post-incident critiques to enhance organizational readiness.
- Maintain rigorous documentation for safety compliance, including SDS management, chemical audits, and regulatory reporting.
- Analyze incident data to identify trends, providing actionable insights and corrective recommendations to leadership.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- 2-3 years of professional experience in an industrial or manufacturing safety role.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and federal/state safety standards.
- Proficiency in MS Office and safety database management systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence safety culture across all levels of the organization.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related technical field.
- Experience with fall protection, respiratory protection, and hazardous material handling.
- Proven track record of managing multiple safety projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
