Senior Level Sales Business Development Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level sales business development job?
Employers at this level look for candidates who have owned a full sales cycle, built or scaled a pipeline from the ground up, and influenced strategy beyond their individual quota. Demonstrating that you have led cross-functional deal teams, managed complex negotiations, or developed partnerships that moved the business forward gives you a clear edge over candidates with similar years of experience.
Which companies hire senior level sales business developments?
Companies hiring senior level sales business developments right now include Citco, Capgemini, and Amazon, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a mix of enterprise technology firms, management consulting organizations, and growth-stage companies that need seasoned professionals to own high-value accounts and expand into new markets.
Are there remote senior level sales business development jobs?
Yes, though availability depends on the employer and role scope. About 38% of senior level sales business development openings are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how many organizations now recruit nationally for experienced business development talent rather than limiting searches to a single office location.
What makes a sales business development role senior level?
Senior level roles are defined by ownership and scope. Where mid level positions execute against a defined playbook, senior roles expect you to set direction, build the playbook, and mentor others who carry it out. You are accountable for strategic outcomes, expected to manage complex stakeholder relationships independently, and often responsible for shaping how the team or function operates.
Which industries hire the most senior level sales business developments?
Senior level sales business development roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Electronics & Hardware, and Automotive, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because their deal cycles are long, their accounts are high value, and they require experienced professionals who can build relationships, navigate organizational complexity, and close strategically.
