SAP Consultant Jobs in Michigan: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sap consultant in Michigan?
Most employers in Michigan require a bachelor's degree in information technology, business, or a related field combined with hands-on SAP project experience. There is no Michigan state license for sap consultants, so the path centers on earning SAP's own certifications through SAP's official training programs, then building implementation experience through roles at system integrators, consulting firms, or directly with Michigan manufacturers. Entry-level candidates often start as business analysts or ERP support specialists before moving into full consulting roles.
How much do SAP consultants make in Michigan?
SAP consultants in Michigan earn a median of about $105,680 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $51,440 for the lowest 10% to over $160,830 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sap consultants in Michigan?
Employers hiring sap consultants in Michigan right now include Infosys, Clarkston, and Arccus, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Michigan's deep automotive and advanced manufacturing base means many of the largest openings come from major OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and the consulting firms that serve them across the Detroit metro area.
Which Michigan cities have the most sap consultant jobs?
The cities with the most sap consultant openings in Michigan are Dearborn, Detroit, and Novi. Detroit and its surrounding communities drive the largest share of demand because of the dense concentration of automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and the large consulting practices that support them, while Grand Rapids draws openings through its growing manufacturing and healthcare enterprise sector.
Are there remote sap consultant jobs in Michigan?
Yes, and more than most fields. SAP consulting is heavily analytical and configuration-driven, making it well suited to remote delivery. About 33% of sap consultant openings tied to Michigan are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how broadly the role has moved off-site since the shift to cloud-based SAP platforms. Roles tied to go-live support, training, or on-site change management are the most likely to require in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a sap consultant in Michigan with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is joining a Michigan-based consulting firm or a large employer's IT rotational program as a business analyst or ERP support associate. Firms serving Michigan's automotive sector regularly bring on candidates from adjacent roles in supply chain coordination, financial operations, or data analysis who already understand the business processes SAP is built around. Earning an entry-level SAP certification before applying gives candidates a measurable advantage, and candidates with degrees from Michigan universities often find inroads through campus recruiting programs run by the major integrators.
Where can I find and apply to sap consultant jobs in Michigan?
