Entry Level Security Analyst Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level security analyst job?
Entry level security analyst employers look for foundational knowledge in threat monitoring, network security, and incident response, typically demonstrated through certifications like CompTIA Security+ or CySA+, a degree in cybersecurity or a related field, or a portfolio of hands-on lab work. Candidates who show practical experience through internships, capture-the-flag competitions, or home lab projects stand out at this stage over those with only coursework.
Which companies hire entry level security analysts?
Companies hiring entry level security analysts right now include CENCORE, Cogent Communications, and TikTok, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a wide range of employers, including government contractors, financial institutions, healthcare systems, and managed security service providers that build dedicated junior analyst teams.
Are there remote entry level security analyst jobs?
Yes, though on-site roles remain common given the hands-on nature of security operations work. About 44% of entry level security analyst openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, so candidates who prefer flexible arrangements will find real options alongside traditional in-office positions.
Are these new grad security analyst jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior security analyst roles. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes zero to two years of experience and accepts internships, lab projects, or a strong portfolio in place of full-time work history, making these roles accessible to candidates entering the field for the first time.
Which industries hire the most entry level security analysts?
Entry Level security analyst roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Education, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors drive consistent junior hiring because they handle sensitive data at scale, face strict regulatory requirements, and need analysts to staff around-the-clock security operations centers.
