Security And Compliance Jobs in St. Louis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a security and compliance job in St. Louis?
Start with St. Louis's strongest hiring sectors: financial services firms clustered in Clayton, large health systems anchored in the Central West End and Midtown, and defense contractors operating near Scott Air Force Base across the river. Candidates who combine hands-on audit or risk experience with familiarity in regulated industries move fastest here. Credentials like CISA, CISSP, or a compliance-specific certification give a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire security and compliances in St. Louis?
Companies currently hiring security and compliances in St. Louis include Washington University in St. Louis, Edward Jones, and Nidec Motor Corporation, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The local market draws heavily from banking, insurance, and health system employers, along with federal contractors tied to the region's defense and government infrastructure.
Are there remote security and compliance jobs in St. Louis?
Yes, though it depends on the role: analytical and policy-focused positions are far more remote-friendly than hands-on physical security or on-site audit roles. About 87% of security and compliance openings tied to St. Louis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the strongest remote concentration in information security, regulatory analysis, and compliance program management.
How can I get a security and compliance job in St. Louis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in St. Louis is targeting compliance coordinator or junior risk analyst roles at the city's large health systems or regional banks, which regularly hire early-career candidates into structured programs. Lateral moves from audit, legal support, or IT operations are common local on-ramps. An entry-level certification like CompTIA Security+ or a CISA associate pathway strengthens any application to St. Louis employers considerably.
Which industries hire the most security and compliances in St. Louis?
St. Louis security and compliance roles concentrate in Education, Food & Beverage, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. The region's dense base of hospital networks, federally chartered banks, and defense contractors creates consistent regulatory pressure that keeps compliance hiring active across all three sectors.
