Security Compliance Analyst Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a security compliance analyst in Rhode Island?
Rhode Island does not require a state-issued license to work as a security compliance analyst, so the path runs through education and industry credentials. Most Rhode Island employers expect a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, information systems, or a related discipline, often from institutions like the University of Rhode Island or Rhode Island College. Earning credentials such as CISA, CISSP, or CompTIA Security+ before applying significantly strengthens a candidacy in the state's finance, defense, and healthcare sectors.
How much do security compliance analysts make in Rhode Island?
Security compliance analysts in Rhode Island earn a median of about $109,420 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $74,880 for the lowest 10% to over $170,180 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire security compliance analysts in Rhode Island?
Companies currently hiring security compliance analysts in Rhode Island include Citizens, CVS Health, and Charles IT, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of defense contractors, regional insurers, and hospital networks means compliance roles appear consistently across both private industry and mission-driven organizations throughout the state.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most security compliance analyst jobs?
Providence, Cranston, and Lincoln account for the greatest share of security compliance analyst openings in Rhode Island. Providence anchors the market as the state's financial, healthcare, and government hub, while Warwick draws demand from corporate headquarters and insurers clustered near T.F. Green Airport, and Newport's defense and naval research presence sustains a steady flow of compliance roles tied to federal contract requirements.
Are there remote security compliance analyst jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than most fields. Security compliance analysis is primarily a desk-based, documentation-driven role, which makes it well suited to remote arrangements. About 42% of security compliance analyst openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader industry norms for analytical compliance work. Policy review, audit preparation, and framework assessments are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a security compliance analyst in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from an IT helpdesk, systems administration, or audit support role into a junior compliance position. Rhode Island's large hospital networks, including Lifespan and Care New England, and defense contractors like Raytheon Technologies regularly bring in candidates from adjacent IT roles for associate-level compliance analyst openings. Earning CompTIA Security+ or starting a CISA study path before applying signals commitment and gives candidates without direct compliance experience a concrete credential to point to.
