Security Manager Jobs in Los Angeles: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a security manager job in Los Angeles?
Target the sectors where Los Angeles hiring concentrates most: entertainment studios, large hotel and resort groups, hospital networks, and commercial real estate portfolios in Downtown, Century City, and Hollywood. Candidates with experience managing contract guard forces, coordinating with LAPD liaisons, or overseeing high-profile venue security stand out. Applying directly to large property management firms and studio operations teams gives you the strongest foot in the door.
Which companies hire security managers in Los Angeles?
Los Angeles security manager roles are posted by Snap, Deloitte, and WaveStrong and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The market includes major entertainment conglomerates, hospital systems, luxury hotels, and large commercial property owners that maintain in-house security operations rather than relying entirely on third-party contractors.
Are there remote security manager jobs in Los Angeles?
Yes, though only for roles focused on policy, compliance, or program oversight rather than hands-on physical security. About 37% of security manager openings tied to Los Angeles are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting demand from corporate security departments and risk management teams. The most remote-friendly work in Los Angeles involves threat intelligence, security program administration, and vendor compliance review.
How can I get a security manager job in Los Angeles with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Los Angeles is moving up through a security officer or shift supervisor role at a major employer, such as a hospital network, casino, or large entertainment venue, where internal promotions are common. Guard licensing through BSIS is the baseline requirement, but candidates who pursue the CPP credential or complete campus security programs at local community colleges gain a measurable edge in a competitive market.
Which industries hire the most security managers in Los Angeles?
Most security manager openings in Los Angeles sit in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Marketing & Advertising, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Los Angeles's concentration of film and television studios, major medical centers, luxury hospitality properties, and large mixed-use real estate developments drives consistent demand for experienced security leadership across all of those sectors.
