Senior Infrastructure Architect Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior infrastructure architect in Arkansas?
The path typically starts with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or electrical engineering, followed by years of hands-on infrastructure roles such as systems engineer or network administrator. Arkansas does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers across Little Rock and Northwest Arkansas consistently expect industry certifications like TOGAF or AWS Solutions Architect Professional. Progressively senior project ownership and documented architecture deliverables are what move candidates from engineer to architect titles here.
How much do senior infrastructure architects make in Arkansas?
Senior infrastructure architects in Arkansas earn a median of about $110,400 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,930 for the lowest 10% to over $166,780 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior infrastructure architects in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring senior infrastructure architects in Arkansas include Walmart, Tyson Foods Incorporated, and CBRE, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's mix of large retail headquarters in Bentonville, state agency IT offices in Little Rock, and defense-adjacent contractors throughout the state creates steady demand across multiple employer types.
Which Arkansas cities have the most senior infrastructure architect jobs?
The cities with the most senior infrastructure architect openings in Arkansas are Bentonville, Springdale, and Little Rock. Little Rock drives volume through state government agencies and financial institutions, while Bentonville and the broader Northwest Arkansas corridor reflect Walmart's global supply chain infrastructure needs and the dense ecosystem of suppliers and tech vendors that have relocated near its headquarters.
Are there remote senior infrastructure architect jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, and more than most technical fields, since architecture work centers on design, documentation, and stakeholder communication rather than hands-on hardware. About 29% of senior infrastructure architect openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of the role. Cloud architecture and enterprise design work are the functions most commonly offered on a fully remote basis.
How can I get hired as a senior infrastructure architect in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a systems administrator or network engineer role at one of Arkansas's large state agencies or a Walmart-ecosystem vendor in Northwest Arkansas, where exposure to enterprise-scale infrastructure is built into the job. From there, earning a cloud associate certification and volunteering for architecture review boards or project documentation work builds the portfolio employers expect. The Arkansas Department of Information Systems and larger healthcare systems like Baptist Health occasionally hire associate infrastructure roles that develop into architect tracks over time.
