IT Operations Manager Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an it operations manager in Arkansas?
Most it operations managers in Arkansas build toward the role through a bachelor's degree in information technology or computer science combined with progressively senior technical roles such as systems administrator or IT team lead. Arkansas does not require a state-issued license for this position, but employers across Little Rock and Bentonville consistently favor candidates holding ITIL Foundation certification and a vendor credential like CompTIA or Microsoft Azure, which demonstrate structured service management knowledge.
How much do IT operations managers make in Arkansas?
IT operations managers in Arkansas earn a median of about $74,050 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $36,200 for the lowest 10% to over $173,080 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire it operations managers in Arkansas?
Employers hiring it operations managers in Arkansas right now include Tyson Foods Incorporated, 3M, and Walmart, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's concentration of retail, healthcare, and logistics headquarters means many of these roles involve managing high-volume transaction environments and multi-site infrastructure.
Which Arkansas cities have the most it operations manager jobs?
Springdale, Little Rock, and Rogers lead Arkansas in it operations manager openings. Little Rock's position as the state capital anchors hiring through government agencies, healthcare systems, and regional banks, while Bentonville and the broader Northwest Arkansas corridor draw significant demand from Walmart's supply chain and the dense ecosystem of retail technology vendors that have established operations there.
Are there remote it operations manager jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, but they are less common than in purely analytical roles because it operations managers often oversee on-site infrastructure, data centers, and hands-on support teams. About 25% of it operations manager openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. The portions of the role most likely to be performed remotely include vendor coordination, policy development, and monitoring dashboard oversight rather than physical hardware management.
How can I get hired as an it operations manager in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an it operations manager role from an IT team lead or senior systems administrator position at a large Arkansas employer such as a regional hospital system, a state government agency, or a Bentonville-area retail technology firm. Arkansas Children's Hospital and state agencies under the Arkansas Department of Information Systems regularly bring on coordinators and leads who grow into operations management. Earning ITIL Foundation certification while in a senior support role signals readiness for the management transition.
