Senior IT Project Manager Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior it project manager in Arkansas?
A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field is the standard starting point for this role in Arkansas. No state-issued license is required, but the Project Management Professional certification is widely expected by major Arkansas employers in healthcare, retail, and government. Most candidates build toward a senior role by first working in IT coordinator, business analyst, or junior project manager positions, then accumulating several years of progressively larger project responsibility before moving into senior-level work.
How much do senior IT project managers make in Arkansas?
Senior IT project managers in Arkansas earn a median of about $77,170 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,620 for the lowest 10% to over $133,420 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior it project managers in Arkansas?
Arkansas senior it project manager roles are posted by Tyson Foods Incorporated, Walmart, and CVS Health and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's concentration of large healthcare systems, retail headquarters, and defense contractors means senior project managers are in steady demand across multiple sectors.
Which Arkansas cities have the most senior it project manager jobs?
Springdale, Little Rock, and Arkansas account for the largest share of senior it project manager openings in Arkansas. Little Rock drives volume through state government agencies and healthcare systems, while Bentonville and Fayetteville reflect Walmart's technology operations and the growing northwest Arkansas tech corridor that has drawn vendors and logistics companies to the region.
Are there remote senior it project manager jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 23% of senior it project manager openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, which reflects how well the role's planning, coordination, and reporting work translates to distributed teams. The phases most likely to allow full remote are requirements gathering, status reporting, and vendor management, while go-live support and stakeholder workshops often require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a senior it project manager in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a project coordinator or junior business analyst role at a large Arkansas employer, then building toward a senior title over time. Walmart Technology and Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield are among the Arkansas organizations that hire entry-level IT coordinators and project analysts, giving candidates exposure to enterprise project environments. Earning a Certified Associate in Project Management credential before applying strengthens a resume noticeably. Adjacent roles in IT support, systems analysis, or quality assurance are also common stepping stones toward a full project management track in Arkansas.
