IT Project Manager Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a it project manager in Arkansas?
Arkansas does not require a state-issued license to work as an it project manager, so the path runs through education and certification. Most hiring managers in Arkansas expect a bachelor's degree in IT, computer science, or business, followed by the Project Management Professional credential from PMI or the Certified Associate in Project Management for those earlier in their careers. From there, candidates typically build experience through coordinator or analyst roles at Arkansas employers before moving into a full PM title.
How much do IT project managers make in Arkansas?
IT project managers in Arkansas earn a median of about $77,170 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $47,620 for the lowest 10% to over $133,420 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire it project managers in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring it project managers in Arkansas include Tyson Foods Incorporated, Walmart, and CVS Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's mix of Fortune 500 retail headquarters, regional health systems, and state government agencies creates consistent demand for project managers who can work inside large, process-driven organizations.
Which Arkansas cities have the most it project manager jobs?
Springdale, Little Rock, and Rogers lead Arkansas for it project manager openings. Little Rock anchors demand through state government IT, Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield, and regional hospital networks, while the Fayetteville-Bentonville corridor is driven by Walmart's global technology operations and the dense supplier ecosystem it attracts, which together pull a disproportionate share of the state's project management hiring into that northwest corner.
Are there remote it project manager jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 23% of it project manager openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves coordination, documentation, and virtual stakeholder meetings rather than hands-on physical presence. Discovery, planning, and sprint facilitation phases are the most commonly performed remotely, while go-live support and vendor coordination at Arkansas sites more often require on-site availability.
How can I get hired as a it project manager in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a business analyst, IT coordinator, or help desk role at a large Arkansas employer, then moving laterally once you have project exposure on your record. Walmart regularly recruits technology associates and program coordinators in Bentonville who grow into PM roles, and Arkansas state government agencies post project coordinator positions that do not require prior PM titles. Earning the CAPM credential before applying signals commitment and offsets a thin project history.
Where can I find and apply to it project manager jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to it project manager jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arkansas openings from employers hiring now. Search the listings, identify roles that fit your background and target location, and apply directly to the ones that match.
