Who's Hiring

Service Technician Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a service technician job in Indianapolis?
Focus your search on Indianapolis's strongest hiring pockets: HVAC and facilities maintenance firms clustered around the northeast side, medical device and diagnostics companies near the I-465 tech corridor, and automotive service operations tied to dealerships throughout the northwest suburbs. Candidates who hold EPA 608 certification or manufacturer-specific credentials stand out locally. Applying directly to employers in those sectors, rather than waiting for postings, gives you a real edge in this market.
Which companies hire service technicians in Indianapolis?
Companies currently hiring service technicians in Indianapolis include Wolter, Auto-Chlor System, and Wabtec, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indianapolis draws a broad mix of regional HVAC contractors, national medical equipment firms, and manufacturing operations that maintain large on-site machinery, giving service technicians a wide range of employer types to target.
Are there remote service technician jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though most service technician roles require hands-on, on-site work, so fully remote positions are rare in this field. About 0% of service technician openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be technical support, diagnostics coordination, or field-service scheduling roles rather than direct repair work.
How can I get a service technician job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is an apprenticeship or helper role with one of the city's HVAC contractors or commercial refrigeration companies, many of which hire assistants with no prior experience and train on the job. Indianapolis dealership service departments and facilities management firms at major downtown properties also bring in entry-level technicians willing to learn manufacturer certification programs. A clean driving record and basic tool familiarity help you move to the front of the applicant pool.
