Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Travel to customer locations and jobsites using a company-provided service truck to perform on-site maintenance and repairs on Bobcat skid-steer loaders, excavators, utility vehicles, attachments, and other equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and routine service on heavy equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, replace, and reassemble diesel and gas engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, charging systems, brakes, transmissions, drive axles, hydraulics, hydrostats, cylinders, steering systems, and electrical components.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of labor hours, repairs performed, parts used, and services completed.
- Inspect equipment at customer locations and identify necessary repairs or maintenance.
- Exercise proper care in the use of tools, diagnostic equipment, service truck, and materials.
- Follow all company safety procedures, equipment manufacturer guidelines, and required training.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment issues, repairs, and service needs.
- Follow directions and assignments provided by the service manager or supervisor.
- Assist other service department employees as needed to ensure efficient operations and quality repairs.
- Perform welding tasks as needed, including setting up, tacking, and producing an even, smooth weld bead.
- Maintain an organized service truck and ensure necessary tools, equipment, and supplies are available for field repairs.
- Work as part of a team to provide dependable service while maintaining a safe and cost-effective work environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Mechanical Knowledge: 1–5 years of mechanical or equipment repair experience preferred.
- Experience with heavy equipment, diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs independently in the field.
- Ability to travel to customer locations and jobsites as required.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record required.
- Ability to safely operate and maintain a company-provided service truck.
- Must have their own mechanic's tools and toolbox.
- Ability to follow instructions, manage assignments, and maintain accurate service records.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work safely in varying outdoor conditions and at different jobsites.
