This position is best suited for someone with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills who is comfortable working independently in the field, interacting directly with customers, and solving unfamiliar equipment problems.
Fitness equipment experience is preferred but not required. We can train the right technician on specific fitness equipment brands and systems.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical equipment
- Troubleshoot motors, switches, sensors, wiring, control systems, belts, bearings, and related components
- Use multimeters and other diagnostic tools to identify electrical and mechanical failures
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Research parts, diagrams, manuals, and technical information as needed
- Complete repairs independently at customer locations
- Communicate clearly and professionally with residential and commercial customers
- Explain repair findings and next steps when needed
- Document service work, parts needed, and repair status accurately
- Complete and close service tickets promptly
- Assist with equipment assembly, installation, delivery, and relocation as needed
- Maintain company tools, vehicle, and work area in a clean and professional condition
Qualifications
- Professional field service, equipment repair, mechanical repair, electrical troubleshooting, appliance repair, industrial maintenance, automotive diagnostics, medical equipment, HVAC service, vending equipment, or similar technical experience
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting ability
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and safe use of a multimeter
- Comfortable reading wiring diagrams, schematics, service manuals, or technical documentation
- Ability to diagnose problems systematically rather than relying only on part replacement
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned service calls
- Reliable, organized, and able to follow established procedures
- Comfortable using phones, computers, and service-ticket systems
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift and move equipment and perform physical field-service work
