Taylor of Oklahoma is seeking a dependable, experienced Field Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial foodservice equipment, refrigeration systems, and related equipment throughout Oklahoma.
This position is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys solving complex problems, working independently, and taking ownership of their work. The strongest candidates bring a solid foundation in electrical troubleshooting, refrigeration, HVAC systems, mechanical repair, or commercial-equipment service.
Every day brings new technical challenges, equipment issues, and customer needs. Successful technicians can accurately diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related failures, read wiring diagrams and technical documentation, and adapt confidently in a fast-paced field environment.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial foodservice equipment
- Identify the root cause of electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration-related failures
- Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical documentation
- Complete repairs correctly and efficiently
- Clearly explain technical findings and repair recommendations to customers
- Recommend appropriate repairs, maintenance, parts, or equipment solutions based on customer needs
- Complete accurate service reports and other required documentation
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels in an assigned service vehicle
- Properly care for the company vehicle, tools, parts, and company-issued equipment
- Work safely and professionally at customer locations
- Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations as scheduled
Ideal Candidate Profile
Successful technicians are self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. They take pride in performing quality work, diagnosing problems accurately, and completing repairs correctly the first time.
They remain calm under pressure, adapt to changing schedules, manage their time effectively, and make sound decisions in the field. Reliability and accountability are essential because technicians travel directly to customer locations and are responsible for an assigned service vehicle, inventory, and equipment.
Successful technicians are also comfortable interacting with customers, listening carefully to their operational concerns, and explaining technical findings in clear, practical language. They can confidently recommend repairs, maintenance, parts, or equipment solutions based on the customer’s needs without using high-pressure sales tactics.
The right person understands that excellent service creates trust and long-term customer relationships. They take ownership not only of resolving the immediate equipment issue but also of helping customers prevent costly downtime in the future.

Who's Hiring

Service Technician Jobs in Tulsa: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a service technician job in Tulsa?
The strongest hiring in Tulsa comes from oil and gas equipment companies along the Arkansas River industrial corridor, HVAC and refrigeration contractors serving midtown commercial buildings, and fleet maintenance operations tied to the Port of Catoosa. Candidates who hold EPA 608 certification or have hands-on experience with industrial control systems stand out locally. Targeting employers in those sectors directly, rather than waiting for postings, accelerates results in Tulsa's tight skilled-trades market.
Which companies hire service technicians in Tulsa?
Companies currently hiring service technicians in Tulsa include Tesla, Agiliti, and B-Sew Inn, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tulsa's employer mix leans heavily toward energy-sector equipment providers, commercial HVAC contractors, and national fleet-services companies with regional hubs in the city.
Are there remote service technician jobs in Tulsa?
Yes, but only for a narrow slice of the role, since most service technician work is hands-on and site-specific by nature. About 21% of service technician openings tied to Tulsa are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those tend to be diagnostic support, technical customer service, or warranty documentation roles rather than field repair positions.
How can I get a service technician job in Tulsa with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Tulsa is through an apprenticeship or helper role with a commercial HVAC or plumbing contractor, where you earn certifications on the job. Local dealerships for agricultural and construction equipment also hire entry-level technician assistants and provide manufacturer training. Completing a short equipment-maintenance program at Tulsa Tech before applying gives candidates a concrete credential that Tulsa employers recognize and prefer over a general resume.
