Service Technician Jobs in Green Bay: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a service technician job in Green Bay?
Focus your search on Green Bay's manufacturing plants along the Fox River corridor, the paper and packaging operations in De Pere, and the commercial HVAC and facilities contractors serving Ashwaubenon's dense retail and hospitality strip. Employers here consistently favor candidates with hands-on diagnostic experience, relevant certifications, and a clean driving record. Applying directly to industrial employers and local facilities management firms gives you the strongest edge in this market.
Which companies hire service technicians in Green Bay?
Companies currently hiring service technicians in Green Bay include Xylem, Kenco, and TDS Telecom, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Green Bay's employer mix leans heavily toward manufacturing operations, commercial equipment dealers, and regional utilities, so opportunities tend to cluster with mid-size industrial firms and national service contractors with local branches.
Are there remote service technician jobs in Green Bay?
Remote work is uncommon for service technician roles since most require hands-on equipment access, travel to job sites, or in-person troubleshooting. About 0% of service technician openings tied to Green Bay are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve technical support coordination, warranty documentation, or parts logistics rather than field repair.
How can I get a service technician job in Green Bay with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Green Bay is through apprenticeship or helper roles with commercial HVAC contractors or equipment dealerships in the Ashwaubenon and Howard areas, which regularly bring on candidates without prior experience and train on the job. Local manufacturers in the paper, food processing, and packaging sectors also hire entry-level maintenance assistants who can advance into full technician roles. A basic tool certification or vocational coursework from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College strengthens your application.
Which industries hire the most service technicians in Green Bay?
Green Bay service technician roles concentrate in Manufacturing and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Green Bay's deep roots in paper manufacturing, food production, and commercial facilities management create consistent year-round demand across these sectors, particularly as aging industrial equipment requires ongoing maintenance and replacement.
