Senior Applications Software Specialist
LOCATION: Hanscom AFB, MA (Bedford, MA)
Salary Range: $125-135,000.00
JOB STATUS: Full-time
CLEARANCE: Secret
TRAVEL: Limited, as needed
Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Applications Software Specialist located at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA. In which you will be supporting the C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI) focuses on providing enterprise support to over 110 active Air Force, Air National Guard (ANG), and Air Force Reserve installations and bases.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

Master’s or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective
technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD- OR, Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
- OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the PWS labor category performance requirements, eight of which must be in the DoD. Non-Functionally Aligned Minimum Recommended Education and Experience: GED and at least five years experience in the respective profession being performed, five of which must be in the DoD.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
- Possesses the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and journeyman contractor personnel within the technical / professional discipline.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of their technical / professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures, and practices in their area of expertise.
- Program Office, Enterprise, and Staff Level Support interface.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Contractor shall advise and support work that involves the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of new or existing applications software.
- Analyzing and refining systems requirements
- Translating systems requirements into applications prototypes
- Planning and designing systems architecture
- Determining and designing applications architecture
- Determining output media/formats
- Designing user interfaces
- Working with customers to test applications Assuring software and systems quality and functionality
- Integrating hardware and software components
- Writing and maintaining program documentation.

Evaluating new applications software technologies; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices to the delivery of
application software services - Plan and or implement agile acquisition/SW development technique.

Plan and or implement DevOps processes and techniques for Cloud and non-cloud
applications.
