Job Summary
We are seeking an enterprise-caliber Tech Lead / Lead Architect – RAG & Agentic AI to spearhead the architecture, design, and production delivery of our next-generation cognitive systems. In this highly visible role, you will partner directly with clients and internal cross-functional squads to build scalable, secure, and exceptionally high-impact AI ecosystems.
The ideal candidate bridges the gap between deep generative AI engineering (RAG, Vector DBs, Multi-Agent Orchestration) and robust, cloud-native enterprise design.
Crucial Domain Requirement: This role sits within a highly regulated tier-1 environment. Strong financial and banking domain experience is strictly required. -
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End AI Architecture: Own the architecture, technical blueprint, and execution of production-grade Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and Agentic AI applications.
Rapid Prototyping: Build, test, and validate comprehensive Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to demonstrate technical viability before committing solutions to enterprise clients.
Cloud & Security Governance: Design resilient AWS infrastructures ensuring strict data privacy, enterprise network isolation, and robust AI guardrails (toxicity filtering, data leakage mitigation, and hallucination controls).
API & System Integration: Architect low-latency REST/GraphQL APIs, distributed microservices, and event-driven data streaming layers built specifically to power AI engines.
Production Optimization: Drive continuous model evaluation, operational observability, fine-tuning, latency minimization, and strict cost optimization across live models.
Technical Leadership: Lead from the front by mentoring developer squads, running rigorous code/architecture reviews, and maintaining delivery velocity under tight timelines.
Required Technical Matrix & Skills
Core AI Engineering (Must-Have):
Production experience with advanced RAG pipelines, custom embedding strategies, Vector Databases, LLM orchestration, and advanced prompt engineering.
Proven track record implementing AI Guardrails (toxicity, hallucination control, alignment) and managing model evaluation/observability frameworks.
Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps:
Deep, hands-on architectural expertise within Amazon Web Services (AWS), specifically utilizing AWS Bedrock, Lambda, API Gateway, OpenSearch, S3, IAM, VPC, and Secrets Manager.
Enterprise Architecture & Integration:
Expertise in microservices design, API modeling, and handling event-driven patterns for high-throughput AI workloads.
Preferred Qualifications (Assets)
Practical experience working with Agentic AI frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel).
Experience with multi-agent orchestration, Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool usage, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
Exposure to financial marketing use cases (predictive campaign optimization, hyper-personalization, analytics, and intelligence insights).
Work Environment & Interview Expectations
Work Arrangement: Hybrid structure requiring a mandatory 3 days per week onsite at either our Columbus, OH or Wilmington, DE corporate offices.
Communication: Exceptional communication skills are required. You must possess the ability to effortlessly break down complex architectural trade-offs, financial data boundaries, and risk metrics to non-technical executive stakeholders.

Software Architect Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a software architect in Delaware?
Software architecture carries no state-issued license in Delaware, so the path runs through education and demonstrated experience. Most Delaware employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science or software engineering followed by several years as a developer or senior engineer. From there, candidates move into architecture by leading design initiatives, earning vendor certifications like AWS Solutions Architect, and building a portfolio of complex systems delivered for financial services, healthcare, or government clients common to the Delaware market.
How much do software architects make in Delaware?
Software architects in Delaware earn a median of about $133,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $96,620 for the lowest 10% to over $174,390 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire software architects in Delaware?
Delaware software architect roles are posted by JPMorganChase, Citi, and I8IS and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of financial institutions and growing life sciences sector means many of these openings sit inside large enterprise technology organizations rather than early-stage startups.
Which Delaware cities have the most software architect jobs?
Wilmington, Newark, and Dover account for the largest share of software architect openings in Delaware. Wilmington leads because it is home to the headquarters and major operations of national banks, credit card companies, and insurance firms whose technology teams drive consistent architecture hiring, while Newark benefits from its proximity to the University of Delaware and a growing cluster of life sciences and analytics employers.
Are there remote software architect jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 20% of software architect openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves design, documentation, and cross-team collaboration that translates well to distributed settings. Roles focused on cloud migration strategy and enterprise integration tend to offer the most scheduling flexibility, while positions that require hands-on coordination with on-premises infrastructure or regulated data environments are more likely to expect an on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a software architect in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a senior software engineer or technical lead role into architecture responsibilities at a Delaware employer willing to develop talent internally. Financial institutions and healthcare systems in Wilmington often hire associates into enterprise technology rotational programs that expose candidates to systems design work. Building familiarity with cloud platforms, earning an entry-level AWS or Azure certification, and contributing to open-source infrastructure projects strengthens a candidate's case considerably before applying to junior architect or architecture engineer titles.
Where can I find and apply to software architect jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to software architect jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search for roles that match your experience level and technical focus, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
