DevOps Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a devops in Delaware?
DevOps roles in Delaware do not require a state-issued license or registration. Most employers hire candidates with a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience in software development or systems administration. Earning vendor certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or the Certified Kubernetes Administrator strengthens your profile significantly with Delaware's financial services and life sciences employers.
How much do DevOpses make in Delaware?
DevOpses in Delaware earn a median of about $133,020 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $96,620 for the lowest 10% to over $174,390 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire devopss in Delaware?
Employers hiring devopss in Delaware right now include Atwell, CSC, and Citi, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of financial institutions and pharmaceutical companies means many of these openings are tied to regulated, security-conscious environments with mature DevOps practices.
Which Delaware cities have the most devops jobs?
Wilmington, Newark, and Dover account for the most devops openings in Delaware. Wilmington leads because of its dense cluster of financial services headquarters and large technology departments, while Newark benefits from the University of Delaware's research ecosystem and proximity to corporate campuses, and Dover draws hiring from state government agencies and defense-adjacent contractors.
Are there remote devops jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 55% of devops openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how well the role translates to distributed work. Cloud infrastructure management, pipeline development, and monitoring tasks are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely, while on-site presence is more often required for roles involving regulated data environments or physical data center work.
How can I get hired as a devops in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into DevOps from a related role such as systems administrator, software developer, or QA engineer, since Delaware employers regularly hire lateral candidates who already understand the development or infrastructure side. Large financial and pharmaceutical employers in the Wilmington area often post associate-level or rotational technology program roles that expose candidates to DevOps tooling. Building a public portfolio on GitHub demonstrating CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, or infrastructure-as-code projects gives hiring managers concrete evidence of capability when your work history is limited.
Where can I find and apply to devops jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to devops jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings, identify the roles that fit your background and target location, and apply directly to the ones that match your experience.
