DevOps Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a devops in Florida?
Most devops roles in Florida are filled by candidates who hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, though some employers accept an equivalent combination of certifications and hands-on experience. Florida does not require a state-issued license to work in devops, but vendor certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or HashiCorp Terraform Associate are widely expected by Florida employers in defense, fintech, and healthcare IT and strengthen any application significantly.
How much do DevOpses make in Florida?
DevOpses in Florida earn a median of about $130,980 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,050 for the lowest 10% to over $204,400 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire devopss in Florida?
Employers hiring devopss in Florida right now include Worth AI, Northrop Grumman, and ALPINE, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's mix of defense contractors, regional banks, large hospital networks, and growing tech firms in the Miami and Tampa corridors creates consistent devops demand across multiple industries year-round.
Which Florida cities have the most devops jobs?
Orlando, Tampa, and Melbourne account for the largest share of devops openings in Florida. Miami leads because of its dense concentration of financial technology companies and multinational corporate offices, Tampa draws significant hiring from healthcare systems and defense contractors, and Orlando's aerospace, simulation, and hospitality-technology sectors generate steady devops demand that extends into the surrounding suburbs and technology parks.
Are there remote devops jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 50% of devops openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how naturally the work fits a distributed model. Infrastructure automation, cloud operations, and pipeline management are the sub-areas most frequently offered fully remote, while roles requiring hands-on lab access or government security clearances at Florida defense sites tend to be on-site or hybrid.
How can I get hired as a devops in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into devops from a closely related role such as systems administrator, software developer, or IT support specialist, as Florida employers at companies like Lockheed Martin, AdventHealth, and regional fintech firms regularly hire from those adjacent positions. Building a portfolio of infrastructure-as-code projects on GitHub, earning an entry-level cloud certification such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals, and targeting junior site reliability engineer or platform engineer titles gives candidates without formal devops experience a concrete way to compete for roles in Florida.
Where can I find and apply to devops jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to devops jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from Florida employers across Miami, Tampa, Orlando, and the rest of the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience and specialization, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
