Entry Level Software QA Engineer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level software qa engineer job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for hands-on familiarity with testing concepts, bug tracking tools, and at least one scripting language like Python. A portfolio showing test cases you wrote, a personal project with documented defects, or a QA internship all demonstrate readiness. Certifications like ISTQB Foundation and coursework in software testing fundamentals can also give candidates a concrete edge over applicants with no practical experience.
Which companies hire entry level software qa engineers?
Companies hiring entry level software qa engineers right now include DHL, FujiFilm, and MES Solutions, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Both technology startups and established enterprises actively hire at this level, especially teams scaling new products where building out a dedicated QA function from the ground up is a priority.
Are there remote entry level software qa engineer jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and team size. About 15% of entry level software qa engineer openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making this one of the more flexible technical roles for early-career candidates. Many remote QA roles focus on manual testing or automated test scripting, both of which are well suited to distributed teams.
Are these new grad software qa engineer jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior software qa engineer roles. A posting is typically new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or academic projects as qualifying background, or explicitly invites candidates with a portfolio in lieu of professional work history. Look for language like "entry level," "junior," or "new grad" in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level software qa engineers?
Entry Level software qa engineer roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026.
